About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Associate specializing in US Accounting as well as Payroll to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements. The Senior Payroll Associate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of US accounting operations, payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant laws and company policies and possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills of and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Generate accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Conduct periodic reviews and audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring accurate and timely distribution of payments. Verify and process time and attendance records, including overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
- Compliance: Stay abreast of federal and state payroll tax regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws. Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports on a timely basis. Stay updated on changes in US accounting standards and ensure the company’s compliance. Work closely with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information, deductions, and taxes. Prepare and distribute payroll reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Taxation: Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns. Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and deadlines.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with other departments to develop and monitor annual budgets. Provide financial insights for forecasting and decision-making processes.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial and payroll operations. Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and payroll processing.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with HR Team to ensure seamless integration of payroll and HR processes. Address employee inquiries and provide support in a timely and professional manner.
- Benefits Administration: Coordinate and administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Address employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
- Audits and Reporting: Collaborate with internal and external auditors during payroll audits. Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance team members. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), CPA certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing with a focus on US accounting.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Paychex, ADP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations., US GAAP, financial reporting, and taxation
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.) and Microsoft Excel. · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
